Fall: Time for planting and pruning your lavender
Fall: Time for planting and pruning your lavender

Fall is one of the most important seasons for lavender. While the fields are resting, the plants are busy strengthening their roots and preparing for next summer’s bloom. This weekend, we invite you to join us for our Fall Open Farm Weekend—a time to visit, shop directly from the farm, and learn how fall care sets the stage for next year’s beauty.

📍 10540 S. Bremer Rd. Canby, OR 97013

📅 Saturday & Sunday, September 28–29

🕗 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day

Why Fall Matters for Lavender

Planting in fall gives young lavender a head start—cooler weather, consistent moisture, and time to establish before the demands of summer heat. By spring, these plants are stronger and better prepared to thrive.

Pruning is also an essential part of fall care. Giving lavender a clean shape after bloom encourages healthy growth, prevents the center from becoming woody, and keeps plants full and vibrant year after year. Visitors this weekend will see how we prune our own plants and learn simple techniques they can use at home.

What to Expect at the Open Farm Weekend

  • Farm Shop: Browse our handcrafted lavender goods, from culinary syrups and honey to candles, essential oils, and more.

  • Lavender Plants: Take home healthy plants ready for fall planting in your garden.

  • Educational Demonstrations: Learn why pruning and fall planting set the stage for next year’s blooms.

  • Enjoy the peaceful setting of the farm in autumn and meet fellow garden lovers. As part of the Cascade Nursery Trail Colors of Fall Festival, we’ll also have free maps available if you’d like to continue the trail and visit seven other local family-run nurseries.

Lavender isn’t just a summer experience—it’s a year-round journey. Our fall open house is a chance to share this part of the cycle with you. While the purple blooms have faded, the purpose of this event is to connect, to teach, and to show the quieter, hardworking side of lavender farming.

We’d love to welcome you this weekend. Come visit, shop, and take home the beginnings of next year’s lavender beauty.

With care,

Mike & Sandra
