There’s a quiet beauty in May at Willamette Valley Lavender. Before our fields erupt in purple, they glow with weeks-old green shoots—each promising the rich fragrance and fluttering pollinators of summer to come. This moment, when growth is tender and roots are settling in, is our favorite time to invite you behind the scenes.
From Our Family to Your Garden On our farm in Canby, Oregon, every lavender starts as a hand-snipped cutting in our naturally ventilated greenhouse. We’ve tested each English (Angustifolia), French (Intermedia), and Spanish (Stoechas) cultivar here in USDA Zones 5–9 for: drought tolerance, pollinator appeal, culinary and aromatic qualities
Our sustainable practices—rainwater harvesting, manual weeding, and zero chemical sprays—mean you’re planting not just lavender, but ecosystem support for your backyard bees and butterflies.
Why Plant Now?
Stronger Roots: Cooler soil temperatures help young plants establish.
Better Bloom: Early planting leads to more summer flower spikes.
Expert Guidance: At our May events, you’ll walk the fields with Sandra and Mike, learning hands-on care tips and variety recommendations.
